ORKA is a personal fitness training business founded in 2023 and based in Cork city centre. We offer screening and guidance for strength and conditioning, athletic development, wellness, and injury rehabilitation.

My previous gym of 7 years closed last summer, so I am relieved and delighted that ORKA opened in the same location. Anne and Alan are doing a great job managing the gym and creating the member programs respectively. Coaches Luke and Scott encourage and support each member during the training sessions. Lots of positive reinforcement! I really like the 4:1 group sessions because I get to know and interact with other members. It’s definitely more fun even while it’s hard work. I have my own customized program that can be modified as needed. That has been a lifesaver for me with my knee and back issues. I would not be as mobile as I am without such a flexible and personalized program. I’m looking forward to many years at ORKA!

I thought I hated the gym until I found this one. I have never felt confident to approach weights in a regular gym and really don’t think I would ever have lifted a barbell if it wasn’t for the kind of space that ORKA is.

Gyms can be off-putting for lots of reasons, such as; neurodivergence, injury, disability, or trauma. However, ORKA has the welcoming community feeling that is lacking from other gyms and makes it an easy place to come to. I look forward to my sessions every week and meeting other members coming and going. Everyone is friendly and encouraging.

Trainers and staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and entirely non-judgmental. They strike a necessary balance between understanding people’s limits while still pushing them to progress. I am so comfortable and confident to try new exercises here in a way I have never felt in another gym. I’m proud to be a member of a gym that understands physical injury and disability so well; there’s no place else I would recommend above ORKA.

Coming to ORKA has been a huge building block in transforming my lifestyle and attitude to exercise. If you have always hated the gym, ORKA is the gym for you!
